Nordic Business Forum office combines comfort with impact

Some talk about square metres, others about location. Salla Seppä, who leads customer experience at Nordic Business Forum, speaks above all about how a place feels. Siltasaari 10 impressed her with its sense of community and its atmosphere when she first visited several years ago. The magic has not faded. The office still feels like a place that is a pleasure to come to.

The value of an office often shows itself in small, everyday moments. For Salla Seppä, one of those moments is a spontaneous trip to the coffee machine at Siltasaari 10. You never know who you might run into. Besides colleagues, it could be a customer, a partner or an entirely new contact. These are exactly the kinds of encounters Seppä values in her office.

“Everything that makes me want to come into the office comes together here. One of those things is the sense of community throughout the building. Many interesting companies have chosen Siltasaari 10 as their home. The fact that there’s life here, that there are people around, adds enormous value every day.”

Seppä works as Chief Customer Experience Officer for Nordic Business Forum’s Helsinki team. Founded in Jyväskylä and now operating internationally, the company is best known for its business seminars, with the flagship event in Helsinki bringing together thousands of participants from around the world each year.

When the first impression lasts year after year

The company moved to Hakaniemi in early 2025. The company’s previous office in Kamppi no longer met the needs of a developing business. Nordic Business Forum aims to help leaders lead better and companies change the world. The premises needed to tell the same compelling story.

“We wanted an office that reflects our brand to the outside world. We had worked with Antilooppi before and knew they offer high-quality premises.”

Seppä had visited Siltasaari 10 several times and says she fell in love with the building from the very first visit: “The atmosphere and surroundings reminded me of a luxury hotel. The service, the interior design and the overall experience created a sense of well-being.”

The Nordic Business Forum team has now been based in the building for about a year. The first impression has not changed: “I feel exactly the same as I did on my first visit. Coming here is wonderful, and we really enjoy working here,” Seppä says.

More companies choosing Hakaniemi

Hakaniemi has gradually changed in recent years. The historic market hall, in the same place for more than a hundred years, has been fully renovated and now brings new energy to the area. Refurbished office buildings and improved services have attracted an increasingly diverse range of companies. The metro station makes for easy access, and both the city centre and Kallio are a short walk away. Seppä is delighted with the excellent location of the new office.

“Here, we’re right where people can easily come to us. And besides, it feels like the centre of Helsinki has shifted eastwards,” Seppä says, a nod to the many companies that have relocated to Hakaniemi.

From conversations by the coffee machine to the calm of your own office

At Nordic Business Forum, work takes many flexible forms. The nature of the work regularly sees the team meeting both customers and partners. The office is not an alternative to remote work but a complement to it.

“A good office attracts people when it genuinely supports the work they’re doing. In this office, finding the right setting for every day and every way of working is simple. In addition to our own office, we actively use the other spaces in the building. Even the lunch restaurant on the same floor is only a few steps away, which makes it quick and easy to go for lunch,” Seppä says.

Nordic Business Forum chose a small office within Antilooppi’s POOL spaces, which offered exactly the right level of flexibility. During the interview Seppä is sitting in the living-room-like POOL Library, which includes phone booths and quiet spaces for focused work. The elegant POOL Lounge, meanwhile, provides a natural setting for work, meetings and a range of events.

“We’ve already organised several events in the Lounge. Best of all, it has led to many valuable conversations,” Seppä says, referring to encounters with other tenants in the building.

Sustainability from the word go

Nordic Business Forum aims to leave a positive mark on the world through leadership and its role in society. The goal is to lead the way in sustainability, whether that means the environmental impact of its seminars, catering that prioritises local food, or offering responsible internship opportunities for young talent. The Nordic Business Forum 2025 event was also awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the first major business conference in the Nordic countries to receive it.

“In that sense Antilooppi’s an excellent brand match for us. We can trust that the sustainability aspects of our office have been thoroughly considered,” Seppä says.

Siltasaari 10 is a high-quality and sustainable office building on many metrics, from environmentally friendly energy sources to excellent energy efficiency and indoor air quality. The building holds LEED Platinum environmental certification as well as an exclusive, wellness-focused WELL Gold certificate.

“The decision to move to Siltasaari 10 was easy. It brought together many criteria that matter to us, from sustainability to the character and suitability of the space. For us, working with partners who share our values is important, whether that’s as landlord and tenant or in a partnership. With Antilooppi that has worked out in the best possible way,” Seppä concludes.

“The value of an office lies in the fact that there are real people in it. At Siltasaari 10 you constantly bump into interesting people. These spontaneous encounters are the best part of the workday.”
