From idea to dream office in just four days – Black Belts relocated to Paasitalo

Black Belt Consulting Oy has quickly become a frontrunner in IT consulting, known for challenging the industry’s traditional ways of working. That same boldness and agility guided their search for a new office as well: the decision to relocate to Antilooppi’s Always Ready office in Hakaniemi was made in just four days.

Founded in 2023, Black Belts is one of Finland’s fastest-growing IT consultancy companies. Unlike traditional consultancies, Black Belts uses a headhunting-based model, meaning they don’t hire consultants in advance to “wait on the bench”. Instead, each expert is recruited based on a profile defined together with the client. This gives talent the freedom to choose whether they work as Black Belts employees or as independent consultants. It also ensures that clients are always matched with the right expert – not least because Black Belts focuses on the top ten percent of senior-level professionals.

The company already employs 45 people, and their growth shows no signs of slowing down. The idea of a new office arose when the old office space began to feel cramped. The new space had to be easy to reach from both the railway station and the metro and meet the needs of a growing team and business. The company was looking for a space that fit Black Belts’ story, one that would be inviting to both employees and customers.

A full change of course in just four days

Black Belts was about to sign a lease elsewhere when luck intervened and led them to Antilooppi. The company had originally reached out to ask if they could visit Antilooppi’s offices for interior design inspiration. Antilooppi then suggested they also take a look at the available Always Ready offices – and four hours later, an office tour in Siltasaari was already in full swing.

The Always Ready office on the seventh floor of Paasitalo in Hakaniemi made an immediate impression with its stunning views and functional floor plan. The space was larger than originally planned, but the option to sublease provided the perfect solution. Things moved quickly, and by the very next day, an offer was already on the table. And just like that, the agreement came together in a matter of days, thanks to a shared sense of direction.

“Even by our standards, the process was exceptionally fast,” says Rolle Isotalo, CCO at Black Belts, praising Antilooppi’s customer-oriented approach. “We were very impressed by Antilooppi’s dedication, flexibility, and efficiency. They clearly understood our needs. Everything just aligned perfectly.”

A penthouse office without the headache of renovation

In Black Belts’ new office, style, practicality, and adaptability come together seamlessly. The most important goal was to create a place that truly feels like home for everyone at Black Belts – not just the sales team, but the consultants and the entire company. The office needed to be versatile enough to accommodate various needs, such as concentrated work and brainstorming sessions. To bring people together, a relaxed communal area was created in the middle of the office. And because the Always Ready offices are move-in ready, the transition to the new space was remarkably easy.

“The penthouse in Siltasaari is incredible and fits our needs perfectly. By painting a couple of walls black and adding a few large screens, we made it look just like Black Belts – practically without any renovation at all,” says Sameli Mäenpää, the company’s CEO.”

The best office for the best talent

As a growing company, it was important to Black Belts that their office could keep pace with them. The Always Ready concept proved to be the perfect match, offering a more flexible lease term than traditional offices. Now, there’s room to adapt, both within and beyond their own office space.
