The team at digital marketing agency Obsidian Helsinki values soulful spaces, the freedom to work as they see fit, and the buzz of city life. They found all that and more in Antilooppi’s Always Ready office in Hakaniemi.
When Ville Pelttari cycles down Eläintarhantie in the early morning, Hakaniemi is already bustling with life. The scent of freshly brewed coffee fills the air around the market stalls, the metro hums with commuters heading to work, and trams rattle along the streets. Pelttari, the CEO of the digital marketing agency Obsidian Helsinki, enjoys his daily ride along the Tokoinranta waterfront—and the vibrant energy that defines Hakaniemi.
“It feels like stepping into a New York loft, with the elevator opening almost directly into our office. I love that feeling,” he says, laughing.
Obsidian Helsinki has just moved into Antilooppi’s high-quality Always Ready office at Paasivuorenkatu 3 in Hakaniemi.
“We had been in our previous location for five years. It was good, but not perfect. So, we started looking around a little and completely fell for this space. It was new and move-in ready, in an excellent location, and has room for us to grow. Everything just clicked!” Pelttari says.
Everything was ready and waiting
Pelttari still remembers the moment he first stepped into the new office—the floor-to-ceiling windows, the colorful tiled columns, the modern yet homely atmosphere. It was love at first sight.
“I had a good feeling the moment I walked in,” Pelttari recalls.
“It just felt like the right fit for our team.”
“The use of colors and materials in the space is really clever. You can tell a professional has thought it all through. For us, it was so easy to just bring in our things and start living,” he says.
The warm welcome was made even warmer by a stocked fridge and a box of chocolates waiting on arrival.
“That was such a nice surprise! Thoughtful details like that leave a lasting impression.”
Space to collaborate and concentrate
At the heart of the Obsidian Helsinki office is a spacious lounge with a kitchen island. The team gathers around it for breakfast, to chat about life, and dream up their next impactful campaigns.
“The atmosphere here is really homely,” Pelttari says.
In addition to the cozy lounge, the office rooftop terrace has been a real delight for the Obsidian Helsinki team.
“We’ve held meetings and lunches there on sunny days, and even hosted our summer party on the terrace, which turned out perfectly,” Pelttari says with a smile.
Beyond the shared moments, it’s just as important that the workspace supports different ways of working and overall wellbeing.
“For us, wellbeing means that everyone can be themselves and work in the way that suits them best,” Pelttari says.
“Our new space really supports that. In our previous office we were all crammed together, but now we have a larger area for the more talkative crowd, and around the corner a quieter space for focused work.”
Antilooppi’s shared spaces at Siltasaari 10 provide additional square meters and different ways of working.
“Spaces like the Library for quiet work, handy phone booths, and the café-like POOL Lounge all contribute to our team’s wellbeing,” Pelttari sums up.
The shared spaces also make it easy to bump into familiar faces: old colleagues and like-minded professionals.
“It’s been great to have so many agencies from our industry under one roof. I like the concept and the spaces so much that I’ve recommended moving here to other companies,” Pelttari laughs.
Living life to the fullest in Hakaniemi
The entire Obsidian Helsinki team is delighted with the office’s new location in the heart of Hakaniemi. Whether by public transportation, bike, or car, getting there is easy. The area is also full of services that make everyday life convenient. Now, anyone can stop by the store to restock the office snacks or pick up fresh pastries and buns for meetings from local bakeries.
“Even though Hakaniemi has been our home for a while now, it still feels like we’re discovering something new every day,” says Pelttari.
“One thing we do know is that it’s always a pleasure to go out for lunch here. There are countless great restaurants to discover, where you can sit and people-watch.”
On Fridays after work, Pelttari often stops by a nearby record store to browse records or picks up a fresh sourdough loaf from a bakery to take home.
”In Hakaniemi, life’s all around you.”
The proximity to the sea has also added a special charm to daily life.
”I gave a speech at our summer party this year. Before the big moment, I grabbed a coffee from the café downstairs and went to Tokoinranta to gather my thoughts and get focused. It was a lovely moment,” Pelttari recalls.
