Shops and services at Ruohis urban block announced

The newly renovated Ruohis urban block is bringing more shops and services to Ruoholahti, Helsinki. The range of retailers and other services in the urban block, which is opening in October, extends from health and fitness to groceries, boutiques, offices and flexible workspaces. The goal is smoother work and daily services for the urban block’s tenants and local residents alike.

The full list of retailers and services housed in the Ruohis urban block, which is opening in October, has now been published. In the renovated urban block, which links three adjacent properties, many familiar shops will continue to operate, complemented by new restaurants and fitness services. See below for a full list of retailers and services.

Esa Mattila, COO at the block’s owner, Antilooppi, is delighted the block’s renovation is near completion. He says that the result will be a complex that serves local residents and workers by making everyday amenities easily accessible.

We want to be a good neighbour to local residents and develop not just our properties, but also the areas they are in,” Mattila says. “We do that by facilitating social interactions and offering a wide range of services.”

POOL flexispace concept and meeting facilities expand to Ruohis

When it reopens, Ruohis will offer even more coffee shops, restaurants, health and fitness facilities, and retailers ranging from florists to groceries and hardware. In addition, on the first floor of the urban block, Antilooppi is opening its POOL concept, offering flexible working, meeting and event spaces.

Antilooppi’s Associate Director of Retail and Services Juha Mäkelä says that today, it is important to keep work and services close to each other, supporting everyone’s individual pace of life.

“The range of retailers and services in Ruohis is designed to serve the neighbourhood’s residents’ and workers’ needs. We want to help provide smooth living, whether that means lunch, visiting the gym, seeing a doctor or simply picking up some groceries,” Mäkelä says.

The renovation is reaching its scheduled completion of October, and the new retailers and services are set to open gradually during September and October. The urban block is serving customers as usual during the renovation.
