Antilooppi has acquired a prominent office building in Helsinki from CBRE Global Investors for a purchase price of around EUR 100 million.
The building, which has 27,700 m², was built in 1920 and is situated in Punavuori in west central Helsinki. The prestigious premises cover an entire city block and are recognised as among the architecturally most noteworthy industrial buildings in Helsinki, especially for their brick facade and high roofs. The premises will be let out to several tenants, many of which are involved in creative work, such as media services, design work and communications. Merikortteli’s tenants include Aller Media, N2 Helsinki, Hasan&Partners and Spotify.
– Merikortteli is a perfect addition to Antilooppi’s capital city portfolio. Merikortteli is a well-known and prominent building, and it significantly strengthens Antilooppi’s presence in west central Helsinki. The premises have a high profile and a strong tenant base, but they also offer possibilities for development in the long run. Punavuori in west Helsinki, as well as the surrounding harbour area, is developing rapidly—both culturally and financially—while, at the same time, a vast expansion of the residential area is taking place, explains Tuomas Sahi, CEO of Antilooppi.
Antilooppi’s consultant in the acquisition of the premises is Exsmith Oy.
